What is ECFE?

The purposes of Early Childhood Family Education are to strengthen families, help parents provide for their children's learning and development, and to help young children develop to their full potential. ECFE provides the "Building Blocks for Family School Success"!

The Hawley ECFE programs are for all parents and children ages two to kindergarten.

The Goals of Early Childhood Family Education:

* to enhance parenting skills and support parents in their child raising efforts
* to share a special ONE on ONE interactive time with your child

* to foster effective communication between parents and their children

* to be aware of child development and its stages as your child grows and develops

* to make new friends in a safe school classroom environment
*to give children an opportunity to discover and learn

It was a pleasure working with all of our ECFE families this fall and early winter. ECFE is a special time to share with your child. We look forward to working with you and your family in 2012.

Learning Readiness sessions for the Kindergartners (Fall of 2012) will be held on EITHER Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Kindergarten classrooms. Classes will begin the first week in March. Information and the registration form has been mailed to all families of children in this age group. If you did not receive a mailing, please contact the Office and one will be sent to your family. Please send your registration form to the Elementary School Office to register your child in the session which best works for your family. We look forward to working with your child on a variety of Kindergarten readiness skills. We encourage each family to consider making arrangements for your child to attend these FREE Learning Readiness sessions. Thank you!

The Learning Readiness parent meetings will be held on EITHER Tues. April 10 or Thurs. April 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the Elementary Media Center. You will be receiving information about Kindergarten readiness. Your attendance is important at one of the meetings, for your child's full day invite will be given to you at that time. The full day Kindergarten experience for the children will be held on Friday May 4 OR Monday May 7.

Spring ECFE for the 2-4 yr. olds will be held on Mondays April 23, 30 and May 7 at 6:00 p.m. in the Kindergarten classrooms. Newsletters have been mailed. Please call the Elementary Office at 483-3316 to register your child. Thanks! We look forward to working with you.
