Hawley Public Schools is seeking a qualified and experienced Building Maintenance Director to oversee and maintain three buildings on our campus (PreK-4th Elementary, 9th-12th Grade High School, & including the exciting opening of our new 5th-8th grade middle school for the 2026–27 school year).
Job Goal
To maintain assigned buildings and grounds in excellent condition of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency so that full educational use is possible at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Second Class C Engineer License required
- Valid driver’s license required

- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation, and state building code requirements

Pool Supervisor

Job Goal: The Pool Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Hawley Pools, ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for staff and patrons. This position provides leadership to pool staff, manages scheduling and training, oversees concessions and financial reporting, and assists with communication and promotion of pool programs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Administrative and organizational skills desirable but not required
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff, patrons, and Community Education personnel
- Minimum 18 years old
Performance Responsibilities
- Oversee daily pool operations and maintain a safe, clean pool deck and surrounding facility for all patrons and staff.
- Create and manage lifeguard schedules, communicate with staff in a timely manner, and ensure all shifts are covered, including special events and activities that utilize the pool.
- Plan and conduct preseason and in-service trainings for pool staff, clearly communicating expectations and ensuring staff follow all safety procedures, policies, and pool rules.
- Ensure all lifeguards maintain required certifications and are adequately trained to perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Maintain and collect employee timecards, verify their accuracy, and submit them to the district office for payroll processing.
- Oversee concession operations including stocking food and beverages, removing expired items, ordering supplies, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Track and report weekly concession and pool revenue using designated data sheets and deliver collected funds to the district office for deposit.
- Assist with marketing and promotion of pool programs, including distribution of information and management of the pool’s Facebook page.
- Respond to community member and patron inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure the pool handbook is current and contains accurate and updated information.
- Prepare and submit end-of-season reports to Community Education staff.

This position is responsible for maintaining safe, attractive, and well-kept outdoor spaces and facilities, while also leading and supporting evening custodial operations.
Job Goal
To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environment in which to learn, play, and develop, and to ensure school facilities and grounds present a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for the public.
Qualifications

scheduled intervals.
