The Hawley Public School District has an opening for a 1.0 FTE 7-12 grade Academic Interventionist for the 2025-2026 school year. The district has an impressive resume and high expectations for student achievement. The district is seeking an individual of high character and integrity. Anyone with a 7-12 teaching license is welcome to apply. LTRS training will be a required component for the position. Co-curricular positions are available, but not a requirement for this position. There is flexibility for the position to be part-time every day if desired by the candidate.

Job Responsibilities Include:
*Assist regular education teachers in identifying and implementing interventions.
- Be a resource for teachers
- Possibly lead professional development sessions for teachers
*Track junior high students who have been identified as struggling with the transition to high school.
*Teach class(es) that target executive functioning, advocacy, organization, test/quiz preparation, grade monitoring, and assignment completion.
*Keep in close contact with teachers concerning missing work and areas of concern relating to academic progress.
*Consistent, scheduled parent contact with a focus on the following:
- Student academic progress every 3 weeks (to coincide with the 3 week grading periods)
- Progress monitoring of the student’s previously-developed (individualized) homework plan that links the home and school environment. This would give the parent the opportunity to verbally explain their active role relating to their son/daughter’s homework plan.
*High School (7-12) 504 Coordinator
*READ Act:
- Update reading personal learning plan and track
- Provide individual reading interventions
*Work in collaboration with the elementary reading & math interventionists
*TAT Coordinator
- Schedule & Facilitate Student Assistance Team meetings
- Prepare assessment materials and reports prior to SAT meetings
- Review cumulative files
- Collect assessment information
- Gather intervention reviews
- Document and follow up tasks
