Welcome to Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

We are so excited to begin a new session of ECFE!

The Hawley ECFE is a program offered through the Hawley Public School to provide educational opportunities for parents  and children from birth to age five. Pre-registration is required so that preparations may be made for the sessions. It is also a Minnesota state law that all children attending must have up-to-date immunization records on file BEFORE the first day of class, so please be sure to provide them.

The cost is $10 per child or $20 per family.

Please note: Families can join at any time throughout the year!

What is ECFE?

“ECFE is based around the idea that a child’s family provides a child’s first and most significant learning environment and that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers.” The purposes of Early Childhood Family Education are to help parents provide for their children’s learning and development, strengthen families, and to help young learners develop to their fullest potential. ECFE provides the “Building Blocks for Family School Success”

The Goals of Early Childhood Family Education
To enhance parenting skills and support parents in their child raising efforts
To share a special ONE on ONE interactive time with your child
To be aware of child development and its stages as your child grows and develops
To make new friends in a safe school classroom environment
To give children an opportunity to discover and learn
To foster effective communication between parents and their children
