Welcome to the Hawley Elementary Media Center!
We work everyday to provide engaging learning experiences and opportunities for students in a variety of areas:
- Digital citizenship
- Literacy/literature appreciation
- Research and critical thinking skills
- Technology operation and accessibility
- Our media specialists work to cultivate learning and meet individual needs to empower students to be passionate readers, informed researchers, critical thinkers, and responsible digital citizens.
Students will find a variety of books to fit their interests and reading levels, spaces to study and read, and technology in the media center.
SUMMER ACCELERATED READING
Please join us for Summer AR! It's that time again already!! It is important to keep our kids reading all summer long!
How it will work...
*Come into the Elementary Media Center to set your goal with Mrs. Drussell & check out books.
*We also take book requests if that is what you prefer. You can email me with those or the kids can request via our online catalog. (they have been doing that during the school year) Then you can come in and pick up the books in the media center. My email: email@example.com
*As always, summer AR points are doubled for spending at the end of the session! If you earn 25 points, you spend 50! We will have our pool party at the end of the session for those that met their goal. We will be having drawings for those who meet their goal! (You must meet your goal to be able to shop and be eligible for drawings and to attend the pool party.)
*You will be able to test from home, I will be monitoring your testing and your goals.
Let’s be summer readers!
*Studies show that students that read all summer, do much better in the fall when they head back to
